Frequently Asked Questions
Find quick answers to common queries about our projects.
What areas do you serve?
We primarily focus on the city of Lancaster and the immediate surrounding districts within North Lancashire. Our goal is to provide local housing solutions that keep people connected to their existing support networks and communities.
How can I refer someone?
Referrals can be made through our official Referral Form, which can be requested via email at info@lchp.org.uk. We work closely with local authorities, charities, and church groups to ensure we reach those most in need of our 'strangers to neighbours' approach.
Do I need to be Christian to volunteer?
While we are a project founded on Christian values of hospitality and love for our neighbours, we welcome volunteers of all faiths and none. We only ask that all volunteers respect our core mission of creating a welcoming, dignified environment for everyone we serve.
How is the project funded?
Our work is sustained through a combination of generous donations from local churches, individual supporters, community grants, and housing benefits. We pride ourselves on being a community-rooted CIO that relies on the shared investment of our neighbours.
How can my church get involved?
Churches can get involved through financial support, volunteer teams for property renovation, or by offering befriending support to our tenants. Contact us today to arrange a meeting where we can share more about our current needs and opportunities for partnership.
